Where Students Come First
Since opening in 2017, AEGIS Leeds East has helped students across the city learn, progress and grow in a supportive academy environment.
The AEGIS system was founded 40 years ago by Chief Master Tony Higo. It is a modern martial arts system built predominantly around the disciplines of Karate, Kickboxing and Juijitsu.
The AEGIS system teaches martial arts from a self defence perspective. It is built around many key life skills and every class taught focuses on these to help us be the best version of ourselves. AEGIS helps you to improve confidence, self discipline, personal fitness regardless of your age or ability.
The first AEGIS Academy was located Leeds, and its success in helping people develop these key life skills alongside learning key self defence skills through martial arts mean that it continues to grow and develop as an organisation throughout Leeds today.
Since our Leeds East AEGIS Academy opened its doors in 2017, we’ve had the opportunity to help countless students acquire foundational skills, develop new techniques and confidently move forward in their learning journey.
The success and growth of our academy means that today it has grown into a well reputed full time academy with permanent premises now in Killingbeck Drive, on the A64, by the Asda Superstore.
